Either > that or it's Jordan twin-brother Boris. It's actually both of us. Boris did the close-up and stunt-keyboard work, I did the dialog and some of the angle shots. Boris always had the better manicurist, and I'm always cracking my knuckles anyway. We're also doing a lot of television work these days, usually in the role of architypical "evil internet hacker." Next monday on ABC I'll be guesting on "All My Children", where I play the evil internet hacker in pursuit of Susan. Tuesday, it's Boris filling in on "Cincinnati Heat", where the 3 super-model policewomen chase down the wiley hacker on the Internet using their advanced skills with Visual Basic and PERL. On Wednesday, Boris and I will be doing simultaneous shows with me on "Han can cook" showing recipies on the WEB, and Boris doing "cross dressers of the Internet" on Oprah. What can I say, Wedneday was a slow day and Boris even gets to keep a lovely Bill Blass ensemble which should come in handy, assuming that he can find a woman in his size. Thursday I'm the narrator on Wild Kingdom's "tigers, sharks (and internet hackers) in the wild." Seems like everyone's keen to get in on the act. Friday's still open, though I have a toilet paper commercial that looks promising. I squeeze a roll on the MBONE and a bunch of faked camera views show the other channel participants ooh-ing and ah-ing appreciatively. Ah well, a buck's a buck! I haven't seen it either. I got the diff file (about 350 KB). > Or maybe wehre I could go to get info about the new release? Noteworthy changes in GCC version 2.7.1: This release fixes numerous bugs (mostly minor) in GCC 2.7.0, but also contains a few new features, mostly related to specific targets. Major changes have been made in code to support Windows NT. The following new targets are supported: 2.9 BSD on PDP-11 Linux on m68k HP/UX version 10 on HP PA RISC (treated like version 9) DEC Alpha running Windows NT When parsing C, GCC now recognizes C++ style `//' comments unless you specify `-ansi' or `-traditional'. The PowerPC System V targets (powerpc-*-sysv, powerpc-*-eabi) now use the calling sequence specified in the System V Application Binary Interface Processor Supplement (PowerPC Processor ABI Supplement) rather than the callin sequence used in GCC version 2.7.0. That calling sequence was based on the AI calling sequence without function descriptors. To compile code for that older calling sequence, either configure the compiler for powerpc-*-eabiaix or use the -mcall-aix switch when compiling and linking. -- Ollivier ROBERT -=- The daemon is FREE! -=- roberto@keltia.frmug.fr.net FreeBSD keltia.freenix.fr 2.2-CURRENT #1: Sun Nov 12 16:47:05 MET 1995 From owner-freebsd-chat Sat Nov 18 16:02:07 1995 Return-Path: owner-chat Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) id QAA27023 for chat-outgoing; Sat, 18 Nov 1995 16:02:07 -0800 Received: from ibp.ibp.fr (ibp.ibp.fr [132.227.60.30]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) with ESMTP id QAA27017 for ; Sat, 18 Nov 1995 16:02:02 -0800 Received: from blaise.ibp.fr (blaise.ibp.fr [132.227.60.1]) by ibp.ibp.fr (8.6.12/jtpda-5.0) with ESMTP id BAA15006 ; Sun, 19 Nov 1995 01:01:22 +0100 Received: from (uucp@localhost) by blaise.ibp.fr (8.6.12/jtpda-5.0) with UUCP id BAA13313 ; Sun, 19 Nov 1995 01:01:21 +0100 Received: (from roberto@localhost) by keltia.freenix.fr (8.7.1/keltia-uucp-2.6) id KAA02799; Sat, 18 Nov 1995 10:41:04 +0100 (MET) From: Ollivier Robert Message-Id: <199511180941.KAA02799@keltia.freenix.fr> Subject: Re: Daemon plushies To: kelly@fsl.noaa.gov (Sean Kelly) Date: Sat, 18 Nov 1995 10:41:04 +0100 (MET) Cc: freebsd-chat@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <9511172357.AA17579@emu.fsl.noaa.gov> from "Sean Kelly" at Nov 17, 95 04:57:15 pm X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 2.2-CURRENT ctm#1327 X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL24 ME8b] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-chat@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk It seems that Sean Kelly said: > Winter holiday's coming up ... does anyone know if we're to see cute > little daemon plushies soon? I guess I'm more interested in the bugfixes. As I remember, there was one class of bug that was a major deciding factor in not moving to gcc-2.7.0, but I don't recall what it was (I'm pretty nearly useless at machine language, or following compiler output by reading it). Do you recall the bug I'm (hazily) referring to? Was there any comment in the Changelog about fixing it? > > Major changes have been made in code to support Windows NT. > > The following new targets are supported: > > 2.9 BSD on PDP-11 > Linux on m68k > HP/UX version 10 on HP PA RISC (treated like version 9) > DEC Alpha running Windows NT > > When parsing C, GCC now recognizes C++ style `//' comments unless you > specify `-ansi' or `-traditional'. > > The PowerPC System V targets (powerpc-*-sysv, powerpc-*-eabi) now use the > calling sequence specified in the System V Application Binary Interface > Processor Supplement (PowerPC Processor ABI Supplement) rather than the callin > sequence used in GCC version 2.7.0.
