Some are translations of www.FreeBSD.org, some are just links to www.FreeBSD.org mirrors, and some are FreeBSD sites in "local languages". I have tried to clean this up a bit, and just have link to the translated versions on the front page using the two letter language names. AFAIR this was also suggested some time ago. What does people say to the attached patch? I know it's not a complete solution, but I think it's much better than the current state. --=20 Simon L. The mirror dropdown works as expected on Mozilla 1.5 on MacOS X. I don't expect the behavior to be different for other platforms. I think it'd be a good idea to ask, unless they have a copyright policy posted that allows it. They might want a link to the book's website or something posted alongside. -- Doug White | FreeBSD: The Power to Serve dwhite@gumbysoft.com | www.FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Oct 23 12:47:04 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4DE7116A4B3 for ; Thu, 23 Oct 2003 12:47:04 -0700 (PDT) Received: from shaft.techsupport.co.uk (shaft.techsupport.co.uk [212.250.77.214]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7077043FCB for ; Thu, 23 Oct 2003 12:47:03 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from setantae@submonkey.net) Received: from cpc2-cdif3-6-0-cust204.cdif.cable.ntl.com ([81.103.67.204] helo=shrike.submonkey.net ident=mailnull) by shaft.techsupport.co.uk with esmtp (TLSv1:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:256) (Exim 4.24; FreeBSD 4.9) id 1AClQE-0009gw-Cz; Thu, 23 Oct 2003 20:47:02 +0100 Received: from setantae by shrike.submonkey.net with local (Exim 4.24; FreeBSD 4.9) id 1AClQC-0006Bl-Uy; Thu, 23 Oct 2003 20:47:00 +0100 Date: Thu, 23 Oct 2003 20:47:00 +0100 From: Ceri Davies To: Josef El-Rayes Message-ID: <20031023194700.GN350@submonkey.net> References: <20031023181734.GA384@jenny.daemon.li> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="QKpLca3blcvhMJ0W" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <20031023181734.GA384@jenny.daemon.li> X-PGP: finger ceri@FreeBSD.org User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.4i Sender: Ceri Davies cc: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Subject: Re: images copyrights X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 23 Oct 2003 19:47:04 -0000 --QKpLca3blcvhMJ0W Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable On Thu, Oct 23, 2003 at 08:17:34PM +0200, Josef El-Rayes wrote: > hi! >=20 > as i stated before, i am doing a rework/update of the publications page. > while i am working on the books, i am wondering, are we allowed to take > the pictures of the books' covers from the publishers page, or do i have > to ask them for permission.
