Here are a couple of gripes, I've got the newest src/, and i've been following everything with 'how you're supposed to do it' and i'm to `make installworld` EXCEPT, it gets angry at me :-P During 'Installing Everything ...' it starts in "include" and goes: creating osreldate.h from newvers.sh touch: not found *** Error code: 127 ${OTHERMSGS} And fails, I'm at a loss for explaination since touch shows up in $PATH... I'm confused :P Second gripe, I have a Sun 15" Monitor, and a Type 5 keyboard, which I prefer to use over my crappy 166Mhz xterminal/laptop, the input into this same box feels like it's at 300 baud, if I type to fast, or speedy in any respect, it seems to lose characters, typing in 'make installworld' comes out as "meinsalwl" Given that 'a', 'e', and 'i' showed up, I think I can rule out the infamous "Beastie vowel bug" (ok, I made it up, but that'd be one comical bug) Is this something to do with the driver involved in keyboard i/o or what? NetBSD doesnt have this prob...nevermind ;) -R. I thought so too, looking at the CVS log in CVS-Web, the latest commits for that particular file were just some $Id$ induced changes from the German Documentation team. Oh well, I'll gladly keep it relatively up to date ;) (not that the sparc64 port moves that fast though :-P) -R. I've tried a few buildworlds to test it, re-cvsup'ing between each run. I've also tried wiping my src tree and pulling it down completely fresh on the off chance that something was confusign cvsup. It's a slow machine to compile on, so it takes me quite some time between each cvsup to see if anything has been fixed ;-) Anyway, I was hoping to hear either that the build for sparc64 is known to be broken or that it's known to be working. Once I know that it is/isn't working for other sparc64 folks, I know in which direction to start troubleshooting. # uname -a FreeBSD caliban.rospa.ca 6.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 6.0-CURRENT #0: Thu Aug 19 09:51:00 CST 2004 toor@caliban.rospa.ca:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/CALIBAN sparc64 Thanks for any input, -T -- I work for an investment bank.
