It hasn't worked on ATI Radeon-based machines yet: looks like a range check will have to be relaxed in the ofw syscons mmap code. So, out of luck with the miniMac until I get that tested. Plus I'm going to update to 6.8.2. > (BTW the usb Keyboard does not work inside DDB...) That is a relic of syscons: the keyboard isn't attached until USB is probed. I'm thinking of putting in a hack to allow the keyboard to be accessed by OpenFirmware until it is probed by h/w - this will allow breakpoints to be set during boot. >BTW, I put this information on the wiki >http://wikitest.freebsd.org/moin.cgi/powerpc Thankyou for that and also the multitude of packages that you've built :) later, Peter. It's a tier-2 platform. Can't say I'd be sure when it will make the transition to tier-1, except that the more people use it as is and give feedback the faster that will happen (hint, hint). > How does bsd-ppc compare lets say linux-ppc distros, such as debian-ppc > or ubuntu-ppc, in processing efficiency? It would be interesting to compare. I'd have to say that given some of innefficiencies in various code paths (syscall, context switch etc) in FreeBSD/PPC and the much longer amount of time and larger user base that Linux/PPC has, it would be no contest in their favour. > Also I noticed that there is no "Other platforms" that I believe was > existed and from which the ppc page link could be ascertained.
