I believe that COMPAT_SYMLINK can be set to "zh_CN" for "zh_CN.GB2312" and "zh_TW" for "zh_TW.Big5". By the way, Simplified Chinese version of FreeBSD web site (http://cnsnap.cn.freebsd.org/zh_CN/) can also be published now. These days Xin Li always merges new update from English version to it up to date. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From Beijing, China Hiroki Sato wrote: > Xin LI wrote > in <1151225316.961.2.camel@spirit>: > > de> We need a buildable website translation (or at least a hook to build the > de> doc stuff) in order to get them appear on these URL. These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. I suspect the majority of daemons that have been updated to comply with the IPv6 socket API are coded to only open a single protocol-independent socket and do not care whether the connection is IPv4 or IPv6. As a result, the default setting can break IPv4 connectivity for such daemons when a server is enabled for IPv6. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: I recommend adding the following section (or some similar wording) to the FreeBSD Handbook to clarify the workaround for IPv6-enabled servers and mention the security implication for such workaround. "27.10.5.4 IPv6 Server Settings If your server will be running services listening on both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, you will probably need to add: ipv6_ipv4mapping="YES" This applies only to FreeBSD 5.x and 6.x and ensures programs written in a protocol-independent manner and comply with the Basic Socket Interface Extensions for IPv6 (RFC3493) can respond to IPv4 connections transparently. Note: if you enable the ipv4mapping feature and you do any kind of detection or access control of IPv4 addresses, you may need to convert your filters to use the IPv4-mapped representation of those addresses. For example, an access control list for a daemon on an IPv4 server that targets 192.168.100.0/24 may need to be updated to use ::ffff:192.168.100.0/120 on an IPv6 server to continue to be effective." >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jun 27 05:08:36 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7601916A404 for ; Tue, 27 Jun 2006 05:08:36 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from chinsan.tw@gmail.com) Received: from ug-out-1314.google.com (ug-out-1314.google.com [66.249.92.169]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A507143D78 for ; Tue, 27 Jun 2006 05:08:34 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from chinsan.tw@gmail.com) Received: by ug-out-1314.google.com with SMTP id m3so1336745uge for ; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 22:08:33 -0700 (PDT) DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=beta; d=gmail.com; h=received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=kii+uHPhyYzF+CFuGcL5qZheTaLvUXVvlAFYKPWSIPEDB8dviYtQPbcLMA3i61cdMqd81VC1OSbFqWX+7YIlBAzRMzZ3C33mQuM+pCYK25f9IvFo9KEdIqDlej4FEg1UUKg7G2bCdIi+GTM6GWlveehcZOhs0v1I5EF+xzsFP38= Received: by 10.66.240.12 with SMTP id n12mr5679842ugh; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 22:08:33 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.66.222.20 with HTTP; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 22:08:33 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: <1f27304c0606262208n3f8b2b6bo9049ce945ad54c98@mail.gmail.com> Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2006 22:08:33 -0700 From: chinsan To: "intron@intron.ac" In-Reply-To: <20060626041705.BFCCDF1736@smtp.263.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline References: <1f27304c0606242250u41611917weade256180d36c02@mail.gmail.com> <1151225316.961.2.camel@spirit> <20060626.103610.32753403.hrs@allbsd.org> <20060626041705.BFCCDF1736@smtp.263.net> Cc: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org, delphij@delphij.net, frebsd-www@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Question about http://www.freebsd.org/doc X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2006 05:08:36 -0000 2006/6/25, intron@intron.ac : > Yeah. Currently, only cards with the Prism chipset are supported". However, any supported card can be used (confirmed by Sam Leffler). All the cards based on the Prism chipset listed as supported in wi(4)'s man page are rather old, with none supporting 802.11g and all increasingly difficult to procure. Updating the documentation to reflect the truth would better communicate FreeBSD's current potential in the wireless arena and potentially avoid sending readers on quests to find old, essentially outdated hardware. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: I was going to attempt to produce a diff to "doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/advanced-networking/chapter.sgml" to update the page, but really don't think I have enough knowledge of the subject matter to do so with any great confidence in the results. The whole wireless networking section could do with a bit of TLC, really, and "http://www.freebsdmall.com/~loader/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/wireless/article.html" appears to be a giant leap in the right direction. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jun 27 16:29:20 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E89C416A50A for ;
