A bktr based one, because that's what most people have, though saa might produce a nicer image (and they are much more prevalent on the retailer shelves these days I think). > Roman Bogorodskiy Saa driver: purpe.com (or try multimedia/kbtv). It has some problems though, most notably some tuner types (Philips MK, the one I have) can't find their (former) frequency back after my box has been shut down (not rebooted but shut down), and I need to tune it to some channel in Linux first. It's a known problem, related to signal detection. I'm (slowly) looking into finding a way to solve this in kbtv. I'd have to install 5-something and incremently test it. What I can say is that I remember that for a while it worked with simply putting the (wrong) product/manufactorer ID that was reported in card.c and treating it as hauppauge, but later the reported ID became 0xffff and that went nowhere. It could probably have been done better and perhaps work with something analogous to what Robert Krten wrote. I also have a miro card and a saa based avermedia one, so I pretty much tossed the wintv aside. I have an amd box here that I need to set up for testing, I'll look which install images I still have a CD for and slap in the hauppauge and see if I can recreate that situation a little. If I can point to some useful timeframes where things broke I'll let you know, if not, well I won't :) IIRC it was between 5.2 -> 5.3 (hack as described above needed) and 5.3 -> 5.4/6.0 (b0rken since) Cheers, Dan From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jun 26 11:03:04 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7F6B916A571 for ; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:03:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C0D5543D8D for ; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:02:59 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k5QB2xwI042443 for ; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:02:59 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k5QB2wbt042439 for freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org; Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:02:58 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:02:58 GMT Message-Id: <200606261102.k5QB2wbt042439@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:03:04 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems Serious problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. My question, what happen with my x264? Why x264 can't encode that video into same bitrate that i set before? Or maybe it needs minimum CPU requirements? 2. I tried to build a live streaming server (live stream from feed) and I have edit the ffserver.conf, start fserver, and do this one : ffmpeg -vd /dev/bktr0 -tvstd pal http://localhost:8090/feed1.ffm, this is my ffserver configuration file : Port on which the server is listening. You must select a different # port from your standard HTTP web server if it is running on the same # computer. Port 8090 # Address on which the server is bound. In this # example, you can type: # # ffmpeg http://localhost:8090/feed1.ffm # ffserver can also do time shifting. It means that it can stream any # previously recorded live stream. The request should contain: # "http://xxxx?date=[YYYY-MM-DDT][[HH:]MM:]SS[.m...]".You must specify # a path where the feed is stored on disk. You also specify the # maximum size of the feed, where zero means unlimited. It looks like there are some network problems there, when I use mplayer to open the .avi file, there's no buffer and I got my ffserver is killed (freeze). The mp3 stream show me different error, when I try to open it with xmms or winamp (in microsoft windows) I see that the player try to reconnect and always failed, but in my ffserver I got this message : 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:15:41 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 1319 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:15:42 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 483 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:15:45 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 483 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:15:46 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 901 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:15:48 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 483 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:16:25 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 483 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:16:27 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 483 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:16:29 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 1319 10.14.200.235 - - [Tue Jun 27 23:16:30 2006] "GET /test.mp3 HTTP/1.0" 200 901 so it means that the connection is allowed..but why the client can't open any file from the server? In the other case, the swf streams can work properly if I open it using browser that supported by flash player (off course with no audio, based on my ffserver configuration) but when I open it using a FLV-PLAYER the sme problem I got there, the player got some problem in connection... My question, is there any wrong configuration in my ffserver.conf file? Thanks in any advance =) ___________________________________________________________ Try the all-new Yahoo! Mail. I have found a patch, but I don't know if it will helping with your issue. Can you test this patch? http://tinyurl.com/nfx56 If you want me to create a patch that for you can drop in audio/jack/files, I will be happy to do it. If it doesn't work, then I guess I could try to make CVS works. I actually downloaded this and complied the mjpegtools-1.8.0_2 to prove to myself that I have memory problems on this machine so I tested it while building world, moving my complete ncvs directory to a new disk partition and it worked without a problem except for expectedly reporting a slow disk ;) and on a machine that I can't run pear on anymore because of a "Segmentation Fault" everytime I run the pear command. When building mjpegtools, or any other port, for that matter, I have not enabled any options, just used the default. Also, it would appear that mjpegtools is enabling gtk support on your machine as well, at least according to your "make configure" output: configure: - Gtk+ support for glav : true As for needing avifile... I don't think it should be needed for these files... They are avi files using the mjpeg codec, which mjpegtools supports in software without any extra software. It's unrelated with your problem, though.. I am going to do a major clean up with this port. For example: * No longer use gtk12, gtk2 now. * No longer depend on avifile and libmovtar (maybe more..). * Near all of flag options are out of date. Most of flags have been renamed, like -with(out)-quicktime -> --with(out)-libquicktime and etc. * Correct the USE_GETOPT_LONG. * Looks like no longer need files/patch-configure. * Maybe more.... > Cheers, > Mezz -- mezz7@cox.net - mezz@FreeBSD.org FreeBSD GNOME Team - FreeBSD Multimedia Hat (ports, not src) http://www.FreeBSD.org/gnome/ - gnome@FreeBSD.org http://wiki.freebsd.org/multimedia - multimedia@FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jun 30 05:03:35 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 17C8F16A5E0 for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 05:03:35 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from freebsd@hub.org) Received: from hub.org (hub.org [200.46.204.220]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E8FE14444C for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 04:32:30 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd@hub.org) Received: from localhost (wm.hub.org [200.46.204.128]) by hub.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 876E9290C71 for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 01:32:29 -0300 (ADT) Received: from hub.org ([200.46.204.220]) by localhost (mx1.hub.org [200.46.204.128]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 83439-06 for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 04:32:30 +0000 (UTC) Received: from ganymede.hub.org (blk-7-151-244.eastlink.ca [71.7.151.244]) by hub.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 14A85290C6E for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 01:32:29 -0300 (ADT) Received: by ganymede.hub.org (Postfix, from userid 1027) id A03C03839D; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 01:32:28 -0300 (ADT) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ganymede.hub.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9AE6033DF1 for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 01:32:28 -0300 (ADT) Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 01:32:28 -0300 (ADT) From: User Freebsd To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20060630013019.W1103@ganymede.hub.org> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Subject: Dual head environment ... can I do it with my video card? Many display cards have alternative outputs of this nature, but they output the same signal on both. To see if your card is capable of more, run X -configure and look at the output file. If it can produce more than one display, the file will start something like this: Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "XFree86 Configured" Screen 0 "screen0" 0 0 Screen 1 "screen1" RightOf "screen0" InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" EndSection Greg -- See complete headers for address and phone numbers. --alTGMKZKEXf64S3V Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFEpLZaIubykFB6QiMRAvnEAJ9N77T7oaMYH12socVet9P4f6wSOQCglPCZ 0TDhWyed6mX60fONTqt2cCM= =UFJl -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --alTGMKZKEXf64S3V-- From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jun 30 10:34:14 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: multimedia@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3BC4616A403 for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 10:34:14 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from omcgann@heanet.ie) Received: from byron.heanet.ie (byron.heanet.ie [193.1.219.90]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E02CA445FD for ; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 10:34:13 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from omcgann@heanet.ie) Received: from omcgann by byron.heanet.ie with local (Exim 4.50) id 1FwGKC-0004yV-8D for multimedia@FreeBSD.org; Fri, 30 Jun 2006 11:34:12 +0100 Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 11:34:12 +0100 From: Orla McGann To: multimedia@FreeBSD.org Message-ID: <20060630103412.GA18288@heanet.ie> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.9i Cc: Subject: Problems installing VLC on FreeBSD6.1 X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Orla McGann List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 10:34:14 -0000 Hi there, I get the following error when I try to portinstall VLC on my machine running FreeBSD6.1 Stable: configure: error: libdirac doesn't appear to be installed on you system. ===> Script "configure" failed unexpectedly. Also, remove a few of out of date stuff in post-patch. - Correct the USE_GETOPT_LONG, no need a check of FreeBSD version. - Near all of knobs were not work, and option flags and dependenies were out of date. * Remove WITH_LIBMOVTAR, WITH_LIBDV_PAL, WITHOUT_AVIFILE and WITH_JPEGMMX. * Rename WITH_LIBDV -> WITH_DV (follow /usr/ports/KNOBS). * Now depend on GTK2, not GTK1, with an autocheck and a new WITH_GTK2 knob. * Add new knobs: WITHOUT_PNG, WITHOUT_X11 and WITH_GTK2 * Make sure to not disable SDL if you want GTK2 otherwise it will not working. * All of knobs now work correct again with the update of option flags. - Fix the plist when you use knobs. - Bump the PORTREVISION.
