The ls -l issue in the other bug was a legitimate mistake on my part :). It worked by accident because mtime and btime for a newly created file is the same (which reminds me that I need to change the btime in the other testcases that check the birth time). Hmmm... I wonder if it's -o noatime. It might be a good idea to note that not all filesystems support btime instead of just UFS1 (example: msdosfs probably..).
