Consider the following minimal example script, written by following the man page example. #!/bin/sh args=3D`getopt a: $*` if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then echo 'Error' exit 2 fi set -- $args while :; do case "$1" in -a) flags=3D-a shift ;; --) shift; break ;; esac done for i; do echo "Arg $i" shift done When the above script is run with 'a b' as an argument, it will output Arg a Arg b rather than Arg a b The problem can be fixed by applying the attached patch. Note that the pat= ch does not address option arguments with embedded spaces. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Sun Dec 11 10:55:25 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BA862C712C1 for ; Sun, 11 Dec 2016 10:55:25 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 9173319F2 for ; Sun, 11 Dec 2016 10:55:25 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id uBBAtP5Y018259 for ; Sun, 11 Dec 2016 10:55:25 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 215209] Kernel panic at boot under XEN: integer divide fault while in kernel mode Date: Sun, 11 Dec 2016 10:55:25 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: new X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: sylvain@sylvaingarrigues.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: bug_id short_desc product version rep_platform op_sys bug_status bug_severity priority component assigned_to reporter cc attachments.created Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 11 Dec 2016 10:55:25 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D215209 Bug ID: 215209 Summary: Kernel panic at boot under XEN: integer divide fault while in kernel mode Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: sylvain@sylvaingarrigues.com CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 177864 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D177864&action= =3Dedit EC2 log I had a system running FreeBSD 12 dated Nov. 3 2016. The traditional reaper init(8) is aware of zombies silently reparented to it after the parents exit, it loops around waitpid(2) to collect them. For other reapers, the silent reparenting is surprising and collecting zombies requires a thread blocking in waitpid(2) just for that purpose. It seems that sending second SIGCHLD is a better workaround than forcing all reapers to obey the setup. I have 2 router systems that I just upgraded from 10.3 to 11.0. Both just basic installs running natd and carp. When I have the 2 systems up and running one is master and the other is in backup status. The natd on the backup system is still somehow impacting traffic. If I go into the backup system and do a /etc/rc.d/natd stop... traffic starts to flow thru the master system again. All of my other systems point to the carp vip 192.168.32.1 as their default gateway. The natd is configured on the carp vip of 10.140.241.5. Here is my configs. If there is anything else that you need to help troubleshoot this... please let me know. This will generate a qcow2 image with 1.4G in size. The entire process uses= the release(7) toolchain to generate the image and should work with newer versi= ons of FreeBSD. Tested with 11.0-RELEASE-p1 and also tested on OpenStack Mitaka. To generate your own image: 1. Follow the regular process of build(7) - buildworld buildkernel 2. cd /usr/src/release 3. make cloudware-release WITH_CLOUDWARE=3Dyes CLOUDWARE=3DOPENSTACK VMIMAG= E=3D2G relates to: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D213396 thanks, -dcasati --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Tue Dec 13 17:57:59 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 640F3C76228 for ; Tue, 13 Dec 2016 17:57:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 53EA89A7 for ; Tue, 13 Dec 2016 17:57:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id uBDHvwuv055325 for ; Tue, 13 Dec 2016 17:57:59 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 212020] Add powerd(8) support for newer AMD CPUs Date: Tue, 13 Dec 2016 17:57:59 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Many People X-Bugzilla-Who: Scoobi_doo@yahoo.com X-Bugzilla-Status: Closed X-Bugzilla-Resolution: FIXED X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 13 Dec 2016 17:57:59 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D212020 --- Comment #3 from Anthony Jenkins --- Sorry for late comment, been ridiculously slammed at work. Product: Base System Version: 10.3-RELEASE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: lordsabre@hotmail.com The issue: If you are going to include fetch you need to include the root certificates. Normally there is not an issue with standard http. However most websites for security have removed normal ftp and are using https. This is a problem. Sending people out to ports for the ca_root_nss is a waste of time. It would also appear that the port attempts to also build perl. Many of us already = have perl, linked to the usr/bin. I will note a much later version than what the port is attempting to download and install. You cannot provide half the solution. Either all of the solution or none. T= he current solution is time consuming and detracts from the fine work you have done. Time to add the certs. While it is possible to load compressed (gzipped) kernel modules using a bootloader (using /boot/loader.conf file), it's not possible to load those while the system is running. You have to uncompress them somewhere before loading, which is very inconvenient and not unproductive. Is it possible to implement loading of compressed kernel modules using kldl= oad or through rc.conf file? Is it possible to implement additional compressing algorithms like xz? For example you could change blanks to tabs from vi mode with: :%s/ /^I/g This is the behavior for vi in System V, all versions of BSD vi, nvi up to = and including 1.79 and the vi/nvi that shipped with all versions of FreeBSD pri= or to 10. Head r254225 upgraded nvi from 1.79 to 2.1.1-4334a8297f which added: filec=3D\t to opts_init() changing the default. This means to use a tab in a substitut= ion while in vi mode you must escape it with ^V. In most cases typing a bare ^I results in the terminal bell sound. Note that tab works the old way when editing in ex mode. This means doing substitutions is currently different between vi mode and ex mode. The upstream repo for nvi is here: https://github.com/lichray/nvi2 r322 is the version that added the filec default to opts_init(). Here is the github issue about this problem: https://github.com/lichray/nvi2/issues/15 I believe the plan is to either remove this default or apply it contextuall= y. The attached patch against head/308461 restores the old filec default of undefined. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Sat Dec 17 02:32:59 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0CDE4C841ED for ; Sat, 17 Dec 2016 02:32:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id D7978E51 for ; Sat, 17 Dec 2016 02:32:58 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id uBH2WwTq084812 for ; Sat, 17 Dec 2016 02:32:58 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 214923] kqueue hangs with busy loop Date: Sat, 17 Dec 2016 02:32:59 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: yjh0502@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 17 Dec 2016 02:32:59 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D214923 --- Comment #14 from yjh0502@gmail.com --- (In reply to Konstantin Belousov from comment #13) Sorry for the confusion.
