With more than one CPU it hangs just after it has noticed that there is at least a second one. Knowing that it might be a sparce cpuids problem, I've assigned just one to test. I have installed, and booted, a variety of these ISOs on both POWER7 and POWER8 CPUs with up to 64 threads, including ALPHA6.
