Specifically, I'm trying to get the two-finger scrolling to work. The touchpad is fully supported on Linux. Based on output from the Linux driver (with extra debugging messages I added in), the touchpad seems to be treated as an IntelliMouse and handled as if it were a wheel-mouse, not a synaptics touchpad. This leads me to believe that the two-finger scrolling must be handled either in the hardware, or in the Linux driver, and appears to X11 as wheel events (rather than a synaptics multitouch event). Now I would like to try out X according to the docs at [1], but the binary pkg repo at bsddesktop.com no longer exist. Is there a new place for this? Building ports would probably take the night, and I would love to test soon. Hi Mathias, I have updated the wiki to reflect that you can now use the default 12-CURRENT upstream pkg repository with the drm-next system. After recent upgrades to Xorg and other libraries everything pretty much "just works". On my systems, I do not even require an xorg.conf and things work great. This config defaults to the "modesetting" xorg driver, which is where most of the upstream dev effort is happening. You can still install the xf86-video-intel driver as well, I test both drivers on my end and they both seem reasonably stable for daily use. In March a CFT about X.org 1.19.3 was sent to this mailing list: after four months I'm very happy about this, since my Radeon box still works fine and my Intel-based laptop has (almost) stopped crashing or showing garbage. What happened of this? Latest upgrades on the main port tree are fighting against the modifications that that patch had made and I had to fix some files by hand. Is there a new patch? A separate branch to switch to (or check out)? In any case, thanks for your work and support. bye av. For background = see https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/svn-ports-head/2017-April/144802.html (In reply to Matthew Rezny from comment #17) > This patch is not applicable as-is Ignoring trivial PORTREVISION conflict the other hunk still applies. And patch-level updates rarely change semantics to require re-evaluation of assumptions. > since the port was updated some time ago, Only 1.4.0 (unreleased atm) has the fix. > nor has it been made clear whether the workaround is still needed after t= hat update. Notice comment 11 or https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-questions/2017-July/277987.html confirm the crash disappeared by either downgrading to 1.2.0 or applying t= he patch. comment 4 was invalidated by comment 9 but both are so context-heavy, so le= t's ignore those. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Sat Jul 15 07:47:20 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 82ECBDBC8EE for ; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6A2C8679CE for ; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 69847DBC8ED; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 691F5DBC8EC for ; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5706F679CD for ; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v6F7lJVO094953 for ; Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 217635] lang/beignet: crash in get_program_global_data() after 1.3.0 update Date: Sat, 15 Jul 2017 07:47:20 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: crash, needs-qa, patch, regression X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: jbeich@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback+ merge-quarterly? You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations below.
