It'd be good to break out those fixes and just commit them.. That would reduce the size of the patch a bit. --=20 John-Mark Gurney Voice: +1 415 225 5579 "All that I will do, has been done, All that I have, has not." --t4apE7yKrX2dGgJC Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQJ8BAEBCgBmBQJek8PLXxSAAAAAAC4AKGlzc3Vlci1mcHJAbm90YXRpb25zLm9w ZW5wZ3AuZmlmdGhob3JzZW1hbi5uZXQ2MEI1RTRGMTNDNzYyMDZDNjEyMDBCNjAy MDVGMEIzM0REMDA2QURBAAoJECBfCzPdAGraiOEQAJGlLBoNg9TxABRKUQD7h1rg Ri7zqivD8NwmTrlmSzoUP3Pb/h6LszHivbbf6LXYG5NPGChps/kExZvLtMtuVjjk AejLW8xG8ZH1y8XWgy20eYitFkFf6/VZJqWexiiIpOxDKrYndbiJLY0zn7BSmPOn f6qpWCZuAyVsRy2sj2f0dVd9n8h/MEpgQw90bVzd/xyJoZitWuXLnk1YiKbyja+b a7qbt6J0rYlL9bXzoU6dbQgby0AlzmjeYa+JeUu/VigvPVElR5Kgrb9irQCb1bzD M+SaaVUDeB+4i8oOF891ey/Fi5iLtVgR2f4sYJSEdZadl1z6IHPipzMuVLXj4S9d pclW7PVGCuS4n9BVEoZfiG6HLj+G9jf79QhDf2pxYvnl5WMfFetkYM4iERJQTJWx LDnMJzJH6Ob9k189jxhkO1l30llegTEdYqdORxUVWVBVza57LrL+71ArVaMVSfq3 MrBcgEzOSyq5txH+yaLcuCNpi7s674aaWx8v6DAHN+TbansSgInRQ59ZtzoIEAqH AOsHfHeMZR7Dy+wQ7tXxOMrlrSxFKkANDlnXmbeun+f4Yvpu3wHsKW8zAoyReSco kFaltJMn/jvNp/TIX4Kz6VIDegR9Yk+Ceo0lN5+sobnQuJO4y6ScgsyaKa1rby2R +gPFLpjp95LH5UFFlT1c =jlue -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --t4apE7yKrX2dGgJC-- From owner-freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org Tue Apr 14 01:27:05 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-virtualization@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 352912AF6AA for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 491SWs0k5zz4TR8 for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 18AF42AF6A9; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:05 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: virtualization@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 187492AF6A8 for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 491SWr6yf1z4TR7 for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id E8C3924E5F for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 03E1R4cI064581 for ; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:04 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 03E1R4ek064556 for virtualization@FreeBSD.org; Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:04 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: virtualization@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 245392] bhyve: PCI passthru built-in rtl8168 to OpenBSD no packets (AMD Ryzen 3 1200) Date: Tue, 14 Apr 2020 01:27:04 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: bhyve X-Bugzilla-Version: 12.1-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: me@anatoli.ws X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: virtualization@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: mfc-stable12? mfc-stable11? List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 18 Apr 2020 14:51:58 -0000 Hello, after upgrading my ancient ivy-bridge (Xeon E3, no vAPIC CPU support) from 11.1 to stable/12 I noteced a quiet heavy slowdown of my windows guest (Server 2012R2). The guest-disk is a ZVOL backed virtio-blk device, which I suspected suffers from performance regressions – especially since I use them in volmode=dev. But then I found the guest spending almost one full vCPU cycles in interrupt handling during light SQL load; something I rarely see on windows.  No idea what caused the slowdown, but I remembered r358848 – which isn't MFCd yet, but I gave it a try. Word's can't describe the surprise.  Never imagined any Win-Guest on bhyve can feel like that… Thanks a lot to Sir Burmeister et. al. Hope this will land in stable/12 soon.
