I found out recently (at a IETF NFSv4 testing event) that wireshark was buggy and the code was actually broken by the "fix". I have now corrected this in main, stable/14 and stable/13. (Commit 54c3aa02e926 in main.) However, FreeBSD 13.3 shipped with this broken. The bug only affects the NFSv4 server if delegations are enabled, which is not the default. As such, so long as "vfs.nfsd.issue_delegations == 0". you should be fine. rick ps: Since few enable delegations, I do not feel this needs an errata for FreeBSD 13.3. . A quick look at the code suggests that it is when the extent to be trimmed is smaller than the extent_bytes_min parameter.

The minimum seems to be a trade off between too many trims to the drive and making sure that the trims that you do send are maximally effective. By specifying a smaller size, you'll be freeing up more holes in the underlying NAND blocks. In some drives, this triggers more data copying (and more write amp), so you want to set it a bit higher for those. In other drivers, it improves the efficiency of the GC algorithm, allowing each underlying block groomed to recover more space for future writes. Then I wanted to install some Desktop Environment and installed LXQT as described in the 8.2.6 section of the Handbook (but without setting the sddm_lang, since I'm fine with English). Then I installed xorg and drm-kmod, as described in the 5.2 and 5.3 sections of the Handbook. I have the i7-4790 CPU with integrated graphics that is the only graphic card that I have, so I enabled the i915kms kernel module in /etc/rc.conf After reboot the xorg and sddm seem to be working properly and I was able even pass the login stage but after about 5 seconds later my screen was completely _blank_ and I was not able switching into any other console (Ctrl+Alt+F1 or F2 or any other Fn). The base system was not stuck because pressing on the "power" button initiated the normal shutdown process. Yet another observation, I noticed that after sddm login and before the screen got blank most of the desktop icons are not shown but only their titles. Since this system is still usable before DE login I tried to use XFCE with lightdm instead of the LXQT sddm. Then I commented out the sddm_enable="YES" line in the /etc/rc.conf and installed xfce, lightdm and lightdm-gtk-greeter packages as described in the 8.2.3.3 section of the Handbook, including lightdm_enable="YES" in the /etc/rc.conf and rebooted. The result was very similar to the previous one with LXQT. After further investigation it turned out that the problem is that Xorg in FreeBSD doesn't support the DisplayPort 1.2 specification. After I disabled the DisplayPort 1.2 in the configuration menu of my Dell U2414H monitor Xfce started to work. At the same time Windows 10 in this hardware supports DisplayPort 1.2 properly. Is it a known limitation and is support of DisplayPort 1.2 going to be implemented?
