Dear ISP,

As an ISP...
.. we need your help.

We are asking that you help us to promote self regulation of the Internet to your
clients.

The Business Ethics Bureau of Investigation has written a business Code of Ethics and
Standards. We would like you to ask your clients to register with the Bureau, and
confirm that they will adhere to this code, and encourage an ethical marketplace.

When a business registers with the Bureau, they receive many valuable benefits. One
extremely important benefit, is that they take part in our comprehensive profile of their
business. By supplying us their business information, they can utilize our comprehensive
report to impress customers, prospects, vendors, etc. Many registered businesses tell us
that this report is one of their most valuable credibility tools!

We also maintain a reliability report that includes consumer complaints, and their
resolution. This is a benefit to the upstanding business, and the consumer.

Anyone on the Internet can view these reports for FREE.

Registered businesses can place our official Registration Seal on their Web site. We do
require that the seal is hyperlinked to their report, so anyone that clicks on the Seal
can view their report.

We can even supply the business with the names, addresses, telephone numbers... of the
people that view their report. This is an optional service.

Here's the money part...

As an ISP, we would like to offer to pay you 25% of the business registration fee for
each client that you have register with the Bureau.

On top of that, we'll pay you $25 as a bonus, when the Seal appears on their Web site, with a link.

Plus, each year that the business renews, you'll receive 10% of the renewal. That's
recurring revenue for you... year after year.

Here's what I'm asking you to do now...

Please go to http://www.bebi.com/webdesigner.htm and view the commission structure.

Then fill in the one-minute short form. There's no obligation.

Once we receive the form, we'll forward additional information.

You have everything to gain, and nothing to lose. Why not put some extra money in your
pocket?

Thank you.

[not sure if this went out - resend]
hub went unresponsive this evening so I drove in to check it out
and found it in a state where there were many many httpd processes
hanging around, all in a D-wait state. The box also did not shut
down cleanly and I had to fsck everything. Something experimental
here?

Hello:

We are a local ISP located in Hollywood, CA. We currently host *all* of Twentieth Century Fox's official movie sites using the Apache server. Our most recent launch was the official X-Files movie site which is racking up more than 3 million hits and over 50MB of data transfer per day. Pretty amazing for free software:-)

Thanks for all of the awesome work.

Here is a short list of sites:

xfilesmovie.com

alien-resurrection.com

anya.com

bulworth.com

drdolittle.com

volcano.com

foxmovies.com

etc.

etc.

 Dear Sirs,
We are small firm located in Bulgaria and we are
interested in buying items from your store. But at
first we must know the answers of the following
 questions :
     1. Do you ship outside your country?
        (especcially for Bulgaria)
     2. Do you accept Credit Card payment?
        (Visa, Master Card)
     3. Can you declare on the parcel value under
$50? Because here we have horrible duty
taxes for !!pc hardwere!!. If you declare
that the parcel costs under $50 we would be
able to get it without duty taxes.

If the answers of all the questions is "YES" it
will be great pleasure for me to work with you.

  Thanx in advance...

Hi,

I just discovered that the ducth mirror site no longer is up to date.
Somehow there must have gone something wrong with the error script. Anyway,
I used to mirror the stuff with:
rsync --client -avz --exclude '*.tar.gz' www.freebsd.org:www $HOME/data

However, rsync was replaced by another version on that system. It
no longer (or not yet!?) supports the --client option.

Now, what is the correct way to mirror the www tree?

Get the old rsync client from

ftp://minnie.cs.adfa.oz.au/rsync

Build it, rename it as oldrsync, and use this version!

Cheers,
	Warren

P.S The author of rsync, Andrew Tridgell, is working on a proper rsync
daemon in the newer releases. Once it supports caching of checksums at
the server end (to lessen the load of recalculating them for each client),
I will verify that it works well, and suggest that we switch to the new
version for mirroring.

You can use cvsup too, btw. If you checkout the www/ tree, you'll find a
README.mirror in there with the cvsupfile line to use.Make sure you sync
from cvsup.freebsd.org for the web stuff since other sites may not carry
the proper release tag.

Hello ...

Secretly we changed www7.freebsd.org to www6.freebsd.org and the web page
dropbox has not yet been updated. Thus the USA/Oregon item points to a
nonexistent host.

Please fix, thanks!

I just did that. At least it recognizes the options. Apparently, freefall
(www.freebsd.org) does no longer support rsync?

The telenet systems link : http://www.tesys.com/freebsd.shtml
Does not appear to be valid anymore. Someone might want to yank the
freebsd.shtml part of the URL
