This is a call to all committers who have committed something to 4.0 to spend a moment remembering what you have done over the past year (grepping the commit logs for your name is a good way :) and to add a brief note to /usr/src/release/texts/{i386,alpha} explaining your change. There's no such thing as too much documentation! :-) Non-committers (and committers alike), if you have any spare time to read through the commit logs (/home/ncvs/CVSROOT/commitlogs in the CVS repository, or use CVSweb) and note anything missing from the release notes, you'd be doing the project a great service. Perhaps if anyone intends to do this they should make themselves known so we can divide up the work between us. Thanks! Kris ---- "How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man?" Check out http://sunesi.com/nbm/users.html for the HTML, chapter.sgml for the SGML, and users.diff for the diff to the handbook to add in the sgml. It's not my best markup. Where would it best be served? I originally imagined in the 'Getting Started' section, but it quickly became too complex. If in the 'System Administration', we could possibly bundle quotas and maybe also localization in this more generic chapter. Again, it's not my best markup. ;) Neil -- Neil Blakey-Milner nbm@rucus.ru.ac.za To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-doc Mon Feb 28 7:21:51 2000 Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from pawn.primelocation.net (pawn.primelocation.net [205.161.238.235]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6FBDD37B835 for ; Mon, 28 Feb 2000 07:21:47 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from jedgar@fxp.org) Received: by pawn.primelocation.net (Postfix, from userid 1016) id 99C219B17; Mon, 28 Feb 2000 10:21:35 -0500 (EST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by pawn.primelocation.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 90F04BA1D; Mon, 28 Feb 2000 10:21:35 -0500 (EST) Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2000 10:21:35 -0500 (EST) From: "Chris D. The PR remains in this state pending a response from the originator. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. It's still available on the CDs in ASCII form, but that's not free of charge. It's specifically limited to the user of the CD: One thing you should note, though: this book is copyright. By buying the CD- ROM, you have a license to use it for your own personal use. You may not give it to other people, or use the text in other documents without the prior written approval of Walnut Creek CDROM. Apart from that, the rendition is painful. I could probably do this once the madness with getting the existing content updated/restructured (the preferred deadline is April 1st) is over with. Otherwise I agree with Neil, someone else should do it if it's wanted before then because I just won't have time. - jim -- - jim mock - walnut creek cdrom/freebsd test labs - jim@luna.cdrom.com - - phone: 1.925.691.2800 x.3814 - fax: 1.925.674.0821 - jim@FreeBSD.org - - editor - The FreeBSDzine - www.freebsdzine.org - jim@freebsdzine.org - To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-doc Sat Mar 4 2:43:14 2000 Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from nagual.pp.ru (pobrecita.freebsd.ru [194.87.13.42]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 893E137B771; Sat, 4 Mar 2000 02:43:07 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from ache@nagual.pp.ru) Received: (from ache@localhost) by nagual.pp.ru (8.9.3/8.9.3) id NAA24226; Sat, 4 Mar 2000 13:43:04 +0300 (MSK) (envelope-from ache) Date: Sat, 4 Mar 2000 13:43:02 +0300 From: "Andrey A. Many defective FTP clients think links are directories. They should download properly if you try.
