I could not reproduce your problem with shuJIT 0.7.5 on Linux as I wrote to you directly. I tried NetBeans 3.2.1, SkinLF 1.1 and various themes. I used Blackdown JDK 1.3.1 FCS, glibc 2.2.4 and Linux 2.4.9-ac17. Any kind of report on shuJIT would be appreciated because language systems are very greedy for testing. Thanks. BTW, SkinLF is a very interesting tool. It can change the theme of a Swing application without any modification of the application. I took screen shots of several themes, Aqua, Windows XP and so on. Of course, I used shuJIT for taking the shots. You can find the shots on the following page though the page is in Japanese: http://www.shudo.net/java/skinlf/ Kazuyuki Shudo To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Sun Sep 30 5:30:59 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from i01sv4107.ids1.intelonline.com (i01sv4107-p.ids1.intelonline.com [147.208.166.12]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3B1FB37B406 for ; Sun, 30 Sep 2001 05:30:56 -0700 (PDT) Received: from i01sv4095 (unverified [10.81.26.9]) by i01sv4107.ids1.intelonline.com (Rockliffe SMTPRA 4.5.4) with SMTP id ; Sun, 30 Sep 2001 12:30:54 +0000 Message-ID: From: Matthias Bartels To: "ari@suutari.iki.fi" Cc: "freebsd-java@freebsd.org" X-Originating-IP: [217.4.88.54] Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 13:30:53 +0100 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-mailer: AspMail 4.0 4.02 (SMT4DD4B4F) Subject: Re: jdk1.3.1 + shujit + netbeans problem Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Servus, i had the sme problem with netbeans, everytime i set JDK_HOME variable to the jdk1.3.1p4 netbeans crashed during startup, i solved the problem by setting the JDK_HOME to the linux jdk that was also installed during the jdk1.3.1p4 installation Matthias Ringtones, Logos und crazy Mailbox Ansagen für Dein Nokia-Handy @ www.genie.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Sun Sep 30 8:15:15 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from fe100.worldonline.dk (fe100.worldonline.dk [212.54.64.211]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id B7C0237B40E for ; Sun, 30 Sep 2001 08:15:09 -0700 (PDT) Received: (qmail 8946 invoked by uid 0); 30 Sep 2001 15:15:08 -0000 Received: from 213.237.13.224.adsl.hc.worldonline.dk (HELO NEIGAARD?MOB) (213.237.13.224) by fe100.worldonline.dk with SMTP; 30 Sep 2001 15:15:08 -0000 Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 17:16:30 +0200 From: =?ISO-8859-1?B?U/hyZW4gTmVpZ2FhcmQ=?= X-Mailer: The Bat! In terms of the core JDK running green threads, patchset 5 will probably be beta quality (there are some bugfixes on top of 4 which are in CVS). However, I'm with Bill. The package with a whole won't be beta until native threads, HotSpot and the plugin all work reliably, preferably on all the BSDs :). -- Greg Lewis Email : glewis@eyesbeyond.com Eyes Beyond Phone : (801) 765 1887 Information Technology Web : http://www.eyesbeyond.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Tue Oct 2 20:14: 7 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from itouch.co.nz (itouch.co.nz [203.99.66.188]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0F99937B405 for ; Tue, 2 Oct 2001 20:14:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: from jonc.itouch ([192.168.2.21]) by itouch.co.nz with esmtp (Exim 3.33 #1) id 15ocTz-000AYI-00; Wed, 03 Oct 2001 15:14:03 +1200 Received: (from jonc@localhost) by jonc.itouch (8.11.6/8.11.6) id f933E3494780; Wed, 3 Oct 2001 15:14:03 +1200 (NZST) (envelope-from jonc) Date: Wed, 3 Oct 2001 15:14:03 +1200 From: Jonathan Chen To: Greg Lewis Cc: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Native JDK1.3.1p4 works sweet! Summary of changes: * Now uses the native JDK 1.3.1 by default (option: JAVA_HOME) * Now allows automatic configuration for use with Jikes. By default Orion is now configured to use Jikes (option: WITH_JIKES) * Now runs as a different user (options: USER_NAME, GROUP_NAME, USER_ID, GROUP_ID), this user and the corresponding group are created during installation and removed at deinstallation. The default name for both the user and for the group is 'orion'. The default ID for both is 7104. * Now allows one to configure the port the web server should listen at at installation time. The default changed from 80 to 8090, to avoid clashes with the default ports of other web server products, especially Apache (port 80) and Tomcat (8080 and 8007) (option: LISTEN_PORT) * Now allows that Orion is automatically started after installation (option: AUTO_START). By default it now is. * Now prints the installation settings at pre-install stage. >How-To-Repeat: N/A >Fix: diff -ruN --exclude=work --exclude=CVS --exclude=README.html /usr/ports/www/orion/Makefile /home/ernst/freebsd-ports/www/orion/Makefile --- /usr/ports/www/orion/Makefile Wed Jun 27 03:51:26 2001 +++ /home/ernst/freebsd-ports/www/orion/Makefile Tue Oct 2 19:22:34 2001 @@ -7,7 +7,7 @@ PORTNAME= orion PORTVERSION= 1.4.5 -PORTREVISION= 6 +PORTREVISION= 7 CATEGORIES= www java MASTER_SITES= ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/database/utils/orionserver/ \ ${MASTER_SITE_LOCAL} \ @@ -18,7 +18,7 @@ MAINTAINER= ernst@jollem.com -RUN_DEPENDS= ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java:${PORTSDIR}/java/linux-jdk13 +RUN_DEPENDS= ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java:${PORTSDIR}/java/jdk13 USE_ZIP= YES NO_BUILD= YES @@ -30,36 +30,104 @@ ORIONCTL_NAME= orionctl ORIONCTL_DEST= ${PREFIX}/bin/${ORIONCTL_NAME} RC_SCRIPT= ${PREFIX}/etc/rc.d/${PORTNAME}.sh -JAVA_HOME?= ${LOCALBASE}/linux-jdk1.3.1 +JAVA_HOME?= ${LOCALBASE}/jdk1.3.1 +JIKES_LOCATION= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/jikes +WITH_JIKES?= YES +.if ${WITH_JIKES} == "YES" +RUN_DEPENDS+= ${JIKES_LOCATION}:${PORTSDIR}/java/jikes +.endif +USER_NAME?= ${PORTNAME} +GROUP_NAME?= ${USER_NAME} +USER_ID?= 7104 +GROUP_ID?= ${USER_ID} +PW?= /usr/sbin/pw +LISTEN_PORT?= 8090 +AUTO_START?= YES .include +pre-install: + @${ECHO} "Installation settings:" + @${ECHO} " Destination directory: ${ORION_HOME}" + @${ECHO} " Control script location: ${ORIONCTL_DEST}" + @${ECHO} " Startup script location: ${RC_SCRIPT}" + @${ECHO} " Startup script location: ${RC_SCRIPT}" + @${ECHO} " Location of JDK: ${JAVA_HOME}" + @${ECHO} " Using Jikes: ${WITH_JIKES}" + @${ECHO} " Running as (user/group): ${USER_NAME}/${GROUP_NAME} (${USER_ID}:${GROUP_ID})" + @${ECHO} " Port to listen at: ${LISTEN_PORT}" + @${ECHO} " Starting after install: ${AUTO_START}" + do-install: + @# Add the group and the user if they do not exist + ${PW} groupadd -n ${GROUP_NAME} -g ${GROUP_ID} || true + ${PW} useradd -n ${USER_NAME} -u ${USER_ID} -g ${GROUP_NAME} -c "Orion Server account" -d ${ORION_HOME} -s ${SH} -h - Orion now runs as this user. * Orion now by default listens to port 7104 instead of 80, this can be configured using the LISTEN_PORT option * Now using the FreeBSD JDK 1.3.1 by default, instead of the Sun Linux JDK 1.3.1, this can be configured using the JAVA_HOME option * Now configuring Orion for use with Jikes by default. This can be disabled by using WITH_JIKES=NO * Now automatically starting Orion after installation, this can be disabled with the option AUTO_START=NO >How-To-Repeat: N/A >Fix: diff -ruN --exclude=work --exclude=CVS --exclude=README.html /usr/ports/www/orion/Makefile /home/ernst/freebsd-ports/www/orion/Makefile --- /usr/ports/www/orion/Makefile Wed Jun 27 03:51:26 2001 +++ /home/ernst/freebsd-ports/www/orion/Makefile Tue Oct 2 19:02:57 2001 @@ -7,7 +7,7 @@ PORTNAME= orion PORTVERSION= 1.4.5 -PORTREVISION= 6 +PORTREVISION= 7 CATEGORIES= www java MASTER_SITES= ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/database/utils/orionserver/ \ ${MASTER_SITE_LOCAL} \ @@ -18,7 +18,7 @@ MAINTAINER= ernst@jollem.com -RUN_DEPENDS= ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java:${PORTSDIR}/java/linux-jdk13 +RUN_DEPENDS= ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java:${PORTSDIR}/java/jdk13 USE_ZIP= YES NO_BUILD= YES @@ -30,36 +30,104 @@ ORIONCTL_NAME= orionctl ORIONCTL_DEST= ${PREFIX}/bin/${ORIONCTL_NAME} RC_SCRIPT= ${PREFIX}/etc/rc.d/${PORTNAME}.sh -JAVA_HOME?= ${LOCALBASE}/linux-jdk1.3.1 +JAVA_HOME?= ${LOCALBASE}/jdk1.3.1 +JIKES_LOCATION= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/jikes +WITH_JIKES?= YES +.if ${WITH_JIKES} == "YES" +RUN_DEPENDS+= ${JIKES_LOCATION}:${PORTSDIR}/java/jikes +.endif +USER_NAME?= ${PORTNAME} +GROUP_NAME?= ${USER_NAME} +USER_ID?= 7104 +GROUP_ID?= ${USER_ID} +PW?= /usr/sbin/pw +LISTEN_PORT?= 8090 +AUTO_START?= YES .include +pre-install: + @${ECHO} "Installation settings:" + @${ECHO} " Destination directory: ${ORION_HOME}" + @${ECHO} " Control script location: ${ORIONCTL_DEST}" + @${ECHO} " Startup script location: ${RC_SCRIPT}" + @${ECHO} " Startup script location: ${RC_SCRIPT}" + @${ECHO} " Location of JDK: ${JAVA_HOME}" + @${ECHO} " Using Jikes: ${WITH_JIKES}" + @${ECHO} " Running as (user/group): ${USER_NAME}/${GROUP_NAME} (${USER_ID}:${GROUP_ID})" + @${ECHO} " Port to listen at: ${LISTEN_PORT}" + @${ECHO} " Starting after install: ${AUTO_START}" + do-install: + @# Add the group and the user if they do not exist + ${PW} groupadd -n ${GROUP_NAME} -g ${GROUP_ID} || true + ${PW} useradd -n ${USER_NAME} -u ${USER_ID} -g ${GROUP_NAME} -c "Orion Server account" -d ${ORION_HOME} -s ${SH} -h -
