Works great, but you need to run it as root (or possibly change some device node permissions) which might not be such a hot idea. The TERM variable is set and the cons25 entry does exist in /etc/termcap on the MFS. Trying another type of terminal (e.g. vt100 or ansi) does not work either : ee always responds "cannot open terminal xx". I also have the problem with the predefined systems (router, bridge,...) so my customization does not seem to be the cause. I don't have the problem on the FreeBSD system I am using to generate the PicoBSD systems. Does that ring a bell to someone ? I did not have this problem on an old floppy image I downloaded (picobsd version 0.41 I seem to remember). Is it a bug in the 4.5R version ? Am I missing something obvious ? I am rather new to FreeBSD. Thanks in advance for any hint. I did not see any .profile file by the way. I already get the error message at the first login on the main console (ttyv0) right after the login banner "welcome to PicoBSD". The error message seems to says that it cannot find or read the termcap database : it seems to know which terminal to try to open. It says "No entry for terminal type "cons25" ; using dumb terminal settings". I tried to do a "TERM=vt100 ; export TERM", which successfully changes my TERM variable, but I still get "Error opening terminal : vt100" from ee. I seem to recall someone else having an issue like this. And it had to do with a missing termcap file in /usr/share/misc. Yes, I believe the error said missing /etc/termcap, but error messages can have bugs, too. Anyway, the typical setup, of course, is a sym link to the real file in /usr/share/misc.
