On 4.10-stable it was working fine with fxtv + wmtune (for the radio). But, on 5.3, with fxtv, I get the image but the sound goes away after a second. After 4~5 seconds, FreeBSD hangs and I have to reboot it... wmtune does the same thing for the sound but doesn't hang the system. I tried with both kldloaded driver and directly in the kernel. I recompiled my kernel with these options: device bktr device iicbus device iicbb device smbus options OVERRIDE_TUNER=3D9 options OVERRIDE_CARD=3D6 I also tried the BKTR_NEW_MSP34XX_DRIVER options but it does the same thin= g.. The card and tuner number are the same that I was using on 4.10-stable. So, any idea why first, I have sound for only a second (it's not my soundcard, I tested it) and why fxtv hangs my system. FreeBSD has no driver for ICE1712(Envy24)/ICE1724(Envy24HT). Fortunatly, it seems that there are public data sheet. So I guess it's time to write a new driver. Quick looking the sheet shows that it has no DMA address limits on which most cheap cards impose. So it is possible to use the card on sparc64 too. If I have more time I'd like to write the driver for Envy24. Due to lack of time and the audio H/W, it's hard for me to write the driver. At present, your best bet would be commercial OSS driver of 4Front Tech. Their driver is now free for "personal and non-commercial use". But I don't know how well it supports Envy24 in FreeBSD. > Thanks for any answer, > Matej -- Regards, Pyun YongHyeon http://www.kr.freebsd.org/~yongari | yongari@freebsd.org From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Dec 16 12:56:12 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 110A116A4CE for ; Thu, 16 Dec 2004 12:56:12 +0000 (GMT) Received: from web41207.mail.yahoo.com (web41207.mail.yahoo.com [66.218.93.40]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id D932043D45 for ; Thu, 16 Dec 2004 12:56:11 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from arne_woerner@yahoo.com) Received: (qmail 8124 invoked by uid 60001); 16 Dec 2004 12:56:11 -0000 Comment: DomainKeys? There are a few cards listed in the current manpage, but I'm sure there are more supported. If you have bktr(4) running on a card, please send me the full name of the card (preferrebly the corresponding pciconf -lv entry) so it can be added to the manpage. I am trying to migrate from 4.10-RELEASE to 5.3-RELEASE. Everything appears to function properly except my TV card. Since I have installed 5.3-RELEASE on a separate hard drive it is easy to compare it to the 4.10-RELEASE. The hardware on these two systems are identical except for the hard drives: EPIC-ME6000 (VIA) mainboard KWorld TV Tuner PCI Card KW-TV878RF-PRO On the 4.10 system I can use 'tuneradio' to set the FM radio frequency on the TV card. On the 5.3 system I get nothing but static and see this error: tuneradio -f 10110 bktr0: arg=10110 temp=10110 bktr0: tv_freq returned: -1 I have compiled the bktr driver for 5.3 with BKTR_RADIO_DEBUG. I notice that iicbus1 is missing in the dmesg output of 5.3, but I have no idea if that is important. I also had to add the option BKTR_USE_FREEBSD_SMBUS or the driver for the I2C bus did not appear in the dmesg for 5.3 at all. Any sugestions would be appreciated.
