They are not too common, or more accurate, they are most likely in full commercial production use. An 164SX seems to have about half the space. 2- The vm space reported This seemlingly is caused by xfree doing large mmaps of video memory. I have never seen these kind of values. Otherwise please sent me the scsi card, I would be willing to test it. I can even provide a sym895 in return ( bootable on modern alpha's ). If that is no option either I don't see much value in keeping this pr open, the hardware and software revisions are pretty old/ hard to find these days. So I think there might be some isadma problems on alpha. I did not use the machine recetly, therefore didn't write to the list nor raised a PR. Sound used to work in FreeBSD 5. but is broken in a relativly up-to-date 5.4-STABLE. I just rebuilt the kernel with revision 1.51 of busdma_machdep.c. My ISA Soundcard (SB16 Vibra) works fine again. No Kernel panic anymore. Machine is a 164LX. DS10l's ( 1u rackmount ) are becoming amazingly cheap and should have similar hardware, might be worth considdering. Thanks for the quick busdma fix btw, I'd probably still be grepping around in the dark :).
