Evolution will be working just fine, then all of sudden it locks up crashes. It seems to be when it is fetching mail, I think. I've tried redirecting the stdout & stderr into a file and the only thing I see that looks critical is this, GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed I also started it with CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1 and this didn't show anything but normal operations, i.e. calling spamc ...etc. I keep recompiling evolution, but I think maybe I should run a potupgrade -frR mail/evolution Any ideas? I realize these ports need some cleanup in addition to fixing the pointyhat error but I was wondering if people even use these ports anymore now that the gnome-art theme downloader is available and is a dep of the gnome-powertools meta-port? Is it maybe time to nuke most of these ports? The theme ports that I own are all older themes, some as old as three years, and a quick look shows them to be available through the gnome-art program. tom -- | tmclaugh at sdf.lonestar.org tmclaugh at FreeBSD.org | | FreeBSD http://www.FreeBSD.org | | BSD# http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:FreeBSD | From owner-freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Sep 12 09:34:35 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4053C16A40F for ; Tue, 12 Sep 2006 09:34:35 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from y.pankov@irbis.net.ru) Received: from navarro.irbis.net.ru (navarro.irbis.net.ru [85.118.141.2]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B945443D46 for ; Tue, 12 Sep 2006 09:34:34 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from y.pankov@irbis.net.ru) Received: by navarro.irbis.net.ru (Postfix, from userid 106) id D4490627897; Tue, 12 Sep 2006 13:34:33 +0400 (MSD) Received: from sierra.ipv6.irbis.net.ru (sierra.ipv6.irbis.net.ru [IPv6:2001:618:400:72ab:217:31ff:fe49:61f8]) by navarro.irbis.net.ru (Postfix) with ESMTP id C11FD627895; Tue, 12 Sep 2006 13:34:33 +0400 (MSD) From: Yuri Pankov To: shild@sbcglobal.net In-Reply-To: <1158021025.43301.10.camel@fbsd1.dyndns.org> References: <1157993920.6805.11.camel@fbsd1.dyndns.org> <1158000082.22477.11.camel@fbsd1.dyndns.org> <1158021025.43301.10.camel@fbsd1.dyndns.org> Content-Type: text/plain Organization: Irbis Telecommunications, JSC Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2006 13:33:57 +0400 Message-Id: <1158053637.37140.13.camel@sierra.irbis.net.ru> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Evolution 2.6.3 FreeBSD GNOME Team Port Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: freebsd-gnome Subject: Re: Evolution 2.6.3 crashing X-BeenThere: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: GNOME for FreeBSD -- porting and maintaining List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2006 09:34:35 -0000 On Mon, 2006-09-11 at 19:30 -0500, Scott T. I have a more generic nautilus question. Is it possible to add this "open-terminal" function as an icon to nautilus like the navigation icons? By default I can access it only via Nautilus: File -> open-terminal. Like OSX where you can put scripts/apps with to the finder menu while holding option and dragging the app into the finder menu. Fresh install from ISO of Fbsd 6.1-release, cvsup, etc etc. Install Evolution-Exchange port. Attempt to configure for Exchange server. When I get to the choice about types of mail servers through the launched GUI application, it only offers me the choice of adding a username. The second field doesnt show up. This is the URL field. I have tried removing the ports, reinstalling them, adding the supplied binary packages, nothing can make evolution-2.6.3 show this field. Im not sure if this is a bug, or if there is a simple fix, but after a week of trying I have come to the conclusion to actually ask you guys if youve ever seen this behaviour before. Heres hopeing :) cheers -- andy andy@shady.org ----------------------------------------------- Never argue with an idiot. It throws errors at two occassions which I don't understand. Maybe you as maintainer of FF can help me out. I get undefined references (for standard functions like malloc, free, printf) because the build system for FF 2 contains the option -Wl,-z,defs. Removing this, it compiles and runs - but it's not linked against libc. How is this possible? I saw this, too in an account that I had previously configured. I never found where that setting was stored, so I was never able to fix it in this account. But since that was a sandbox, I never really spent much time on it. I do not think this is FreeBSD-specific, though. Your description doesn't include any > details. Hi, marcus: Sorry, I forget to write the detail of this bug. :p the default freetype2 port seems like enable TTF_BYTECODE function by default. .if !defined(WITHOUT_TTF_BYTECODE_ENABLED) CFLAGS+= -DTT_CONFIG_OPTION_BYTECODE_INTERPRETER .endif In fact, it is not enabled by default: /* #define TT_CONFIG_OPTION_BYTECODE_INTERPRETER */ Therefore, this(freetype/config/ftoption.h) does not work with -DTT_CONFIG_OPTION_BYTECODE_INTERPRETER. However, when TT_CONFIG_OPTION_UNPATENTED_HINTING is defined, freetype2 will still use auto-hinter by default, except the applications use especially way to use BYTECODE_INTERPRETER.
