If it's still an issue, could you please provide the output from "pciconf -l" and a dmesg of the system, as well as the output of "ifconfig dc0" before, and a few seconds after unplugging/replugging the cable? Are the two PRs different issues, or should one of them be closed? From the card MAC address, it looks like they refer to the same machine. I hope your development team can find a way to help those similar individuals working very hard to have a healthy BSD installation on their laptops. Especially a work around on such problems. Thanks and more power! Oh yeah, google doesn't help at all with this type of problems on wireless issues especially on Unix systems. "dev.est.0.freq_settings" Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 12:31:04 +0200 You can set a lower bound with e.g. `sysctl debug.cpufreq.lowest=600` Powerd doesn't have to be changed. I think it would be better to give that sysctl a more official name like dev.cpu(.X).freq_lowest though, but that's up to acpi@ not i386@. It's a farely new relase with the latest ports hiarchy giving me xorg-7.2. The X server works fine without the dri option. The video card is a radeon 7500 AGP with 64 mb of ram. The drm is built in my kernel. I am not too sure what the problem is. I thought it might be the BusID becouse i have 2 gfx cards in my computer. The radeon on agp and a onboard agp sis.however it doest seem to work any better with any of the options i have in the xorg.conf. >How-To-Repeat: Enable dri with a radeon 7500 in xorg-7.2. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Thu May 24 00:43:29 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CF2D116A400; Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [69.147.83.40]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id ABB1C13C457; Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (linimon@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id l4O0hTl0080554; Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id l4O0hTA6080550; Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 GMT From: Mark Linimon Message-Id: <200705240043.l4O0hTA6080550@freefall.freebsd.org> To: linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: bin/112694: segfault in pam_lastlog(8) on sshd exit when no pty allocated X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 00:43:29 -0000 Old Synopsis: segfault in pam_lastlog on sshd exit when no pty allocated New Synopsis: segfault in pam_lastlog(8) on sshd exit when no pty allocated Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-i386->freebsd-bugs Responsible-Changed-By: linimon Responsible-Changed-When: Thu May 24 00:42:42 UTC 2007 Responsible-Changed-Why: This does not sound i386-specific. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=112694 From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Thu May 24 16:00:17 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EF26316A46E for ; Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:17 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [69.147.83.40]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 986FA13C447 for ; Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:17 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id l4OG0HGh088292 for ; Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:17 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id l4OG0HEt088291; Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:17 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:17 GMT Message-Id: <200705241600.l4OG0HEt088291@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org From: Gavin Atkinson Cc: Subject: Re: i386/74816: OS crash with kernel trap 12 in different processes X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Gavin Atkinson List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:18 -0000 The following reply was made to PR i386/74816; it has been noted by GNATS. And the system is mostly inoperational. Will perhaps try later on. Will also try to lookup componentes. The bios string is 09/27/2000-693A-686-6a6LGA1AC-UX It is a VIA chipset. Unfortunally cannot corfirm the brand, but most likely either abit, chaintech, gigabyte, asus or msi. >Also, is it possible to confirm that the IDE cable has been=20 >connected the correct way around (e.g. the (usually blue or=20 >red) connector is connected to the motherboard, and the=20 >furthest (usually black) connector is plugged into the master=20 >device)? =20 The issue is not the cable in any way. It operates under both Windows (for years) and Linux without problems. The issue is that FreeBSD uses UDMA66 mode. However the cable is NOT an 80-conductor and hence interference causes a lot of CRC errors. The system should detect whether a 80-conductor cable is, or is not, in place and possiblity limit the speed to UDMA33. Joris Dobbelsteen B.ICT.
