HP offers no solution. As well as all others. The video card is a S3 Savage IX (no longer in biz) and the Models' LCD has no brand offered. The screen for video setup FreeBSD offers Legacy CRT settings only (no LCD call outs). I am attempting to set up for 1024x768 res screen for X11. The only hint is a (60hz) referenced at the in the 1024x768 XP screen advanced setup deal. I purchased the 5.2.1 FreeBSD package w/manual. Would really like to run this guy on my laptop. Can anyone offer some help. When I've paid this much for an O.S. I really was in hope of a smooth install. I know this is an all volunteer organization, otherwise I'd be steaming. Still, perhaps it is true, "expectations are premeditated resentments". Can any one offer any real help or suggestions. I really do not want to burn up my screen, therefore I'd like more than, 'Well, you could try this (or that)'. Thx in advance, Grizz From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Oct 1 06:32:51 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 19EA616A41B; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 06:32:51 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DFD3E13C480; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 06:32:50 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (linimon@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id l916Wo9G049460; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 06:32:50 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1/Submit) id l916WoLS049456; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 06:32:50 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2007 06:32:50 GMT Message-Id: <200710010632.l916WoLS049456@freefall.freebsd.org> To: linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org From: linimon@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: kern/116748: [nfs] NFS over UDP with kern.ipc.nmbclusters=0 does not work X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 01 Oct 2007 06:32:51 -0000 Old Synopsis: NFS over UDP with kern.ipc.nmbclusters=0 does not work New Synopsis: [nfs] NFS over UDP with kern.ipc.nmbclusters=0 does not work Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-i386->freebsd-bugs Responsible-Changed-By: linimon Responsible-Changed-When: Mon Oct 1 06:32:26 UTC 2007 Responsible-Changed-Why: This does not sound i386-specific. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=116748 From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Oct 1 11:08:27 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 87B3116A4C1 for ; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 11:08:27 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1A92513C4B2 for ; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 11:08:27 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id l91B8RAe064475 for ; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 11:08:27 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1/Submit) id l91B8PY4064471 for freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org; Mon, 1 Oct 2007 11:08:25 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org) Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2007 11:08:25 GMT Message-Id: <200710011108.l91B8PY4064471@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: gnats set sender to owner-bugmaster@FreeBSD.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 01 Oct 2007 11:08:27 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems S Tracker Resp. If is pressed just after the BIOS splash screen disappears, and then is pressed at the boot slice prompt, the boot continues normally and the system will both install and run (with the same workaround for the boot each time). jmc From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Oct 5 04:00:07 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6E7B516A46C for ; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 04:00:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A8B513C4B3 for ; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 04:00:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id l95407jH007487 for ; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 04:00:07 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1/Submit) id l95407gO007486; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 04:00:07 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Resent-Date: Fri, 5 Oct 2007 04:00:07 GMT Resent-Message-Id: <200710050400.l95407gO007486@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org (GNATS Filer) Resent-To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, "Beech Rintoul" Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 31C4616A41B for ; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 03:57:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from beech@FreeBSD.org) Received: from stargate.alaskaparadise.com (137-42-178-69.gci.net [69.178.42.137]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0837A13C4B6 for ; Fri, 5 Oct 2007 03:57:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from beech@FreeBSD.org) Received: from stargate.alaskaparadise.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by stargate.alaskaparadise.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7F6768084 for ; Thu, 4 Oct 2007 19:41:35 -0800 (AKDT) Message-Id: <1191555695.90204@stargate.alaskaparadise.com> Date: Thu, 4 Oct 2007 19:41:35 -0800 From: "Beech Rintoul" To: "FreeBSD gnats submit" X-Send-Pr-Version: gtk-send-pr 0.4.8 Cc: Subject: i386/116943: /usr/include/objc missing objc-decls.h X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 05 Oct 2007 04:00:07 -0000 >Number: 116943 >Category: i386 >Synopsis: /usr/include/objc missing objc-decls.h >Confidential: no >Severity: serious >Priority: low >Responsible: freebsd-i386 >State: open >Quarter: >Keywords: >Date-Required: >Class: sw-bug >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Fri Oct 05 04:00:06 GMT 2007 >Closed-Date: >Last-Modified: >Originator: Beech Rintoul >Release: FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT i386 >Organization: Alaska Paradise >Environment: System: FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT #11: Wed Sep 26 15:56:16 AKDT 2007 root@stargate.alaskaparadise.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/STARGATE >Description: /usr/include/objc/objc-api.h includes objc-decls.h on line 33, but the file isn't present.
