I have been battling a bug for about 4 months now. This has spanned 10.2-release, 10.3-release, 11-current. If I could get some assistance here= in how to trace this problem I would gladly provide information. Known Good State: FreeBSD 10.2-11-current, works flawlessly. Bad State: Install py27-salt, run minions and or master.=20 Note: tested only on my hardware, but reproducible.=20 Steps to reproduce, run in ide compatibility mode or hardware that cannot do AHCI. Install FreeBSD 10.2-11-Current Install py27-salt run 'salt machine test.ping' Machine will then report. run 'salt machine state.apply test=3DTrue' Everything reports properly run 'salt machine state.apply'=20 Expected behavior is report back of success, observed behavior is kernel pa= nic. I get a very limited window that I can do any input to the machine. At this time I cannot boot past starting jails as salt minion loads previously. I cannot verify who this impacts, I cannot verify the extent of it as I have = read zero data regarding this specific to salt. I can replicate this, I can reproduce it across multiple machines.=20 Changing one machine from AHCI to IDE will induce this as well, that machin= e is now stable for weeks without issue. Sadly the two machines that are causing= the headache have no allocation for this due to age. I have tried 2 different S= SD's and 2 different spinners. The secondary machine does not have py27-salt installed, months without panic. Install py27-salt and it starts panicking. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Wed Apr 27 17:25:52 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 962F0B1E654 for ; Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:25:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 8749F167C for ; Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:25:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u3RHPpMP002169 for ; Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:25:52 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 208365] [umass] Cannot fsck 3TB USB disk Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:25:51 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: grahamperrin@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: royger@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailman-Approved-At: Wed, 27 Apr 2016 21:10:40 +0000 X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.21 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:25:52 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D208365 --- Comment #33 from Graham Perrin --- (In reply to comment #30) > =E2=80=A6 could you give current HEAD a try?
