Fetching metadata signature for 10.2-RELEASE from update.FreeBSD.org... Reason: Depending on the DNS server a FreeBSD box asks, the answer to a query like: host -tsrv _http._tcp.update.FREEBSD.org can be either: _http._tcp.update.freebsd.org has SRV record 1 5 80 update3.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.freebsd.org has SRV record 1 50 80 update5.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.freebsd.org has SRV record 1 35 80 update4.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.freebsd.org has SRV record 1 40 80 update6.freebsd.org. or: _http._tcp.update.FREEBSD.org has SRV record 1 50 80 update5.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.FREEBSD.org has SRV record 1 40 80 update6.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.FREEBSD.org has SRV record 1 5 80 update3.freebsd.org. _http._tcp.update.FREEBSD.org has SRV record 1 35 80 update4.freebsd.org. freebsd-update script forms a list of available mirror servers by executing such a query and by running various sed commands on its output. If the reply does not contain FREEBSD in caps, the produced list turns out to be empty - which is wrong, since the reply is not empty (and since FQDNs are case insensitive). This happens because the SERVERNAME variable of freebsd-update takes its value (update.FREEBSD.org) from /etc/freebsd-update.conf, which h= as caps in it. It's strange that some DNS servers reply with caps when asked with caps and others don't, but this is a different issue... A patch that makes the sed statement case insensitive is provided. Another possible patch that would resolve the issue would be to change /etc/freebsd-update.conf's record to use lower case, but IMHO, the script is wrong because FQDNs are case insensitive and it doesn't take it into accoun= t. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Wed Oct 12 10:24:34 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DDFAEC0D69D for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:24:34 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id CCEE0F8D for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:24:34 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u9CAOYXr003761 for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:24:34 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 213411] freebsd-update does not form a valid MLIST when host -t srv returns non caps reply Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:24:35 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: bin X-Bugzilla-Version: 10.2-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: mamalos@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: bug_severity cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:24:35 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D213411 George Mamalakis changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Affects Many People |Affects Some People CC| |mamalos@gmail.com --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Wed Oct 12 10:28:58 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 38615C0D92B for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:28:58 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 0E56A7AD for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:28:58 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u9CASvGW011312 for ; Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:28:57 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 213092] tar(1) continues to run and error after non-existent file Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:28:58 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: bin X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: commit-hook@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:28:58 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D213092 --- Comment #4 from commit-hook@freebsd.org --- A commit references this bug: Author: mm Date: Wed Oct 12 10:28:24 UTC 2016 New revision: 307138 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/base/307138 Log: MFC r306670: Sync libarchive with vendor including security fixes. In th= is case it was worth to try and configure wpa_supplicant with: ap_scan=3D0 and limit the scanning for specific SSID scan_freq=3D 2) Disabling fast re-authentication sometimes helped to stop dropping WPA-E= AP. fast_reauth=3D0 I have no 6205 in FreeBSD box atm.
