Galera Cluster on FreeBSD Galera Cluster for MySQL already runs on FreeBSD in large organizations that handle mission-critical and security-sensitive data. With Galera 3.20, we are now providing compilation fixes, ports scripts and binary packages for FreeBSD. If you are a FreeBSD user, please give those scripts and packages a try! We welcome all feedback at info@galeracluster.com . Binary Packages You can find Galera Cluster binary packages for FreeBSD in our package repository, http://releases.galeracluster.com/freebsd/ Using the Galera Cluster Ports Until Galera Cluster is made part of the official ports repository, it is possible to compile Galera and MySQL-wsrep using the ports scripts that we maintain in our dedicated repository on GitHub, https://github.com/codership/freebsd-ports The full story can be read from here http://galeracluster.com/2017/01/galera-cluster-packages-and-support-for-freebsd-are-now-available-from-codership/ Best regards Sakari Keskitalo Codership COO From owner-freebsd-advocacy@freebsd.org Fri Feb 3 17:44:55 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-advocacy@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AC9A0CCF8BD for ; Fri, 3 Feb 2017 17:44:55 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from stephen.joseph@united-email.info) Received: from mserver.united-email.info (mail.united-email.info [137.59.52.162]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D8ADD7D2 for ; Fri, 3 Feb 2017 17:44:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from stephen.joseph@united-email.info) Received: from UnitedPC (unknown [202.133.79.30]) by mserver.united-email.info (Postfix) with ESMTPA id B06F0193ECE for ; Fri, 3 Feb 2017 23:16:12 +0530 (IST) Reply-To: From: "Stephen Joseph" To: Subject: Ask a question Date: Fri, 3 Feb 2017 12:44:43 -0500 Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0 Thread-Index: AdJ+RGfahNjOVzp0Sge9d+lCoRFLyQ== Content-Language: en-us x-cr-hashedpuzzle: AllG Ang4 A7Wk BZ+L ChNF FRmr GQHH Ge+7 H6K8 Il9p JYli Jd01 J7jS KYQG KgLj L0Du; 1; ZgByAGUAZQBiAHMAZAAtAGEAZAB2AG8AYwBhAGMAeQBAAGYAcgBlAGUAYgBzAGQALgBvAHIAZwA=; Sosha1_v1; 7; {BDABF140-4A10-457C-B407-3784F0C8342D}; cwB0AGUAcABoAGUAbgAuAGoAbwBzAGUAcABoAEAAdQBuAGkAdABlAGQALQBlAG0AYQBpAGwALgBpAG4AZgBvAA==; Fri, 03 Feb 2017 17:44:11 GMT; QQBzAGsAIABhACAAcQB1AGUAcwB0AGkAbwBuAA== x-cr-puzzleid: {BDABF140-4A10-457C-B407-3784F0C8342D} Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.23 X-BeenThere: freebsd-advocacy@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Evangelism List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 03 Feb 2017 17:44:55 -0000 Hi, My name is Stephen Joseph, the Business Development Manager at one of = the leading email database providing companies.=20 Our area of expertise lies specifically in the major industrial lists = like: Agriculture, Business Services, Chambers of Commerce, Cities, Towns & Municipalities, Construction, Consumer Services, Cultural, Education, Energy, Utilities & Waste Treatment, Finance, Government, Healthcare, Hospitality, Insurance, Law Firms & Legal Services, Manufacturing, Media = & Internet, Metals & Mining, Organizations, Real Estate, Retail, Software, Telecommunications, Transportation, etc. Building long term relationships with our clients is something we = strongly believe in and we go to great lengths to ensure our valuable clients = receive first rate service. Why should just one (particularly controversial and divisive) university get perpetual free advertising for all eternity at the expense of every other individual and institution? I propose that the name BSD should be thought of as a recursive acronym (like GNU) for "BSD Software Distribution". The B in BSD could also stand for Beastie, Bell Labs (to which it has a more forthright connection than Linux), etc, etc, etc... This need not be a formal decision by any BSD variant's foundation, BDFL, etc - just a preference of some members of the BSD community. Long live the BSD Software Distribution! Peace out.
