I can provide bigger dumps, but not in public, because they might contain sensitive data. The outgoing UDP packets are created by my fastd kernel module [1] that is a simple UDP tunneling protocol that encapsulates IP packets using M_PREPEND. Some code is similar to if_vxlan.c. ICMPv4 echo requests inside of the tunnel lead to invalid checksums in > 95% of the cases. But also other packets types are affected. Read the current affinity mask: #cpuset -g -x 271 irq 271 mask: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 3. Set CPU2 for IRQ 271 # cpuset -l 2 -x 271 4. Make sure by reading back .. # cpuset -g -x 271 irq 271 mask: 2 5. Start TCP traffic, interrupts will be coming into IRQ 271 (rxq0) but different CPU will be processing then (but not CPU 2). We're having an issue with mbuf exhaustion on a FreeBSD server which was = recently upgraded from 10.3-STABLE to 10.3-RELEASE-p2. Under the course = of normal operation, we see mbuf usage steadily increasing until we = reach kern.ipc.nmbufs limit, at which point the machine becomes = unresponsive over the network (due to lack of mbufs for network access) = and the console displays: cxl0: Interface stopped DISTRIBUTING, possible flapping cxl1: Interface stopped DISTRIBUTING, possible flapping [zone: mbuf] kern.ipc.nmbufs limit reached [zone: mbuf] kern.ipc.nmbufs limit reached The machine runs pf and acts as a packet filter, router, gateway and = DHCP/DNS server. It has two Chelsio NICs in it, and is a CARP master = with a secondary. The secondary has identical configuration of hardware = and software and does not exhibit this issue. Given the downtime this causes, we set up our Nagios/Check_MK to graph = the output of `netstat -m` and alert when mbufs in use approaches = `kern.ipc.nmbufs` and we see a steady linear increase in mbuf usage = until we reboot: https://i.stack.imgur.com/8bzAq.png = mbuf *clusters* in use does not change when this happens and increasing = mbuf cluster limits has no effect: https://i.stack.imgur.com/7OzdN.png = This appears to be a kernel bug of some sort to me, looking for advice = on further troubleshooting or assistance in resolving this! I just got a server, supermicro motherboard, 4 intel NICs, installed the FreeBSD-11.1-RELEASE-amd64-disc1. uname reports FreeBSD11.1-RELEASE #0 321309. Unfortunately the igb NIC's don't appear to work correctly. With no VLAN igb0 and igb3 (the only two I tried) will transmit packets but not receive them (switch sees the MAC, destination host sees packet). If I turn on VLAN, then nothing is transmitted either (the switch never sees a MAC address on the port). I've certified two cables, neither makes a difference. Occasionally the ports don't detect the cable has been removed and still reads active instead of no carrier. Feels like a driver problem....any clues? Tomorrow I'll try a direct cable into a laptop, then failing that I suppose I'll svn the latest 11.1 source and start building a new world. Switch counters verify this and netstat seems to indicate the same. Apologies for any mistakes in the text, i had to convert from an image (attached).
