ZFS doesn't wait. I suspect I'm hitting cleanup for some Hyper-V service like kvpair or something. At any rate the patch I added no longer works for me (= with no upgrade to my kernel) so at the very least it is not reliable. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org Wed May 31 01:48:52 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-virtualization@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 831BDBF2EAB for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 01:48:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 709D883213 for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 01:48:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v4V1mqKi041291 for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 01:48:52 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-virtualization@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 211136] [Hyper-V]mount root may fail because vfs' mount starts early than VMBUS Date: Wed, 31 May 2017 01:48:52 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Many People X-Bugzilla-Who: honzhan@microsoft.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-virtualization@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussion of various virtualization techniques FreeBSD supports." Further, as bhavesh@vmware.com pointed out ESXi was never broken, and there is hardly anything but speculative rumours to support the original inclusion (not eve= n a reproducible bug report!) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org Wed May 31 19:39:01 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-virtualization@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 60625B87E64 for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 19:39:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 48D8165E1A for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 19:39:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v4VJd0JI023568 for ; Wed, 31 May 2017 19:39:01 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-virtualization@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 203874] [patch] MSI/MSI-X interrupts don't work in VMware virtual machines Date: Wed, 31 May 2017 19:39:00 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Many People X-Bugzilla-Who: marius@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-virtualization@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-virtualization@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussion of various virtualization techniques FreeBSD supports." I have done tests on a gigabit internet connection from our server to a ser= ver of our ISP: with LRO disabled ping: 2.01ms, download: 235.13 Mbps, upload 410.41 Mbps with LRO enabled ping: 2.01ms, download: 149.73 Mbps, upload 0.80 Mbps Ping remained the same and download almost the same, but upload dropped from 410 Mbps to 0.80 Mbps - 512 times drop! And remote desktop connections are practically unusable, with frequent connection drops. This has been known since the 6.1 release. There was discussion on the OpenBSD misc@ list. This is due to strict features check on CPUs in 6.1 and above. From memory it is a -w addition when starting bhyve to get around it. It only applies to certain Intel CPUs (not all are affected). Cheers Jason On 3 Jun 2017 4:56 p.m., "Shawn Webb" wrote: Hey C.L. Martinez, Sorry for the top post as I'm responding from my phone. HardenedBSD has fixed this in bhyve for quite a few months. I'm unsure if Peter Grehan plans to pull in the commits, but he knows about them. Thanks, Shawn On Jun 3, 2017 15:49, "C. L.
