When attempting to use g++9 with the system libc++ instead of libstdc++ on aarch64 I got it to work by making it use: # ldd . . . . . .: libc++.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc++.so.1 (0x404e2000) libcxxrt.so.1 => /lib/libcxxrt.so.1 (0x405d5000) libthr.so.3 => /lib/libthr.so.3 (0x4061a000) libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x40676000) libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x406e7000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/local/lib/gcc9/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x40abe000) In other words: make it avoid use of: libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x40abe000) in order to pick up a definition of __floatunditf@GCC_4.2.0 . But the odd mix is probably not a generally good idea. === Mark Millard marklmi at yahoo.com ( dsl-only.net went away in early 2018-Mar) From owner-freebsd-toolchain@freebsd.org Mon Sep 9 17:59:02 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 257C7DA250 for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 46Rws20G3Rz4KcR for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 07185DA24D; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:02 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 06DE9DA24C for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 46Rws16Sn3z4KcQ for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id C259A19586 for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id x89Hx19o007297 for ; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:01 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id x89Hx14o007296 for toolchain@FreeBSD.org; Mon, 9 Sep 2019 17:59:01 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 236567] lang/spidermonkey170, lang/spidermonkey38: clang 8 crashes during build on armv7 and armv6 Date: Mon, 09 Sep 2019 17:59:01 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: commit-hook@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback? The code was incorrectly counting the number of identical instructions, and therefore tried to predicate an instruction which should not have been predicated. This could have various effects: a compiler crash, an assembler failure, a miscompile, or just generating an extra, unnecessary instruction. Instead of depending on TargetInstrInfo::removeBranch, which only works on analyzable branches, just remove all branch instructions. Fixes https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D43121 and https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D41121 . Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D67203 This should fix "Unable to predicate BX killed renamable $r0" errors when building the lang/spidermonkey170 and lang/spidermonkey38 ports for armv7 and armv6. Right... so this all feels like a good opportunity for foot shooting. =3D\ = It'd be nice if we had some way of listing the targets that `cc` supports, so we= can decide if we need to bootstrap a cross-compiler that works for what we're trying to build and we can at least force *that* option on for the bootstrap compiler. The last time I checked, one could turn off all of the LLVM_TARGET_* knobs except, say, LLVM_TARGET_X86. They install a machine that way, and the mach= ine has all of the knobs except LLVM_TARGET_X86 turned off just like the builde= r. A cross-build of aarch64 would then just error out with 'target triple unknow= n' or something to this effect, rather than being able to detect- "oh yes, the host isn't functional for this." --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
