Instead of MS-Office you can use OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org), instead of Internet-Explorer and Outlook take Mozilla (www.mozilla.org). These applications are also available (and absolutely free) for Windows. Printer Setup can be done with apsfilter for most common printers. Are you using USB connected hardware (scanner, digi-cam)? I would recommend a dual-boot installation (Win98 and FreeBSD), so you can fall back to Windows whenever you feel you might need some more time to work things out properly. > 4.
