--- Comment #2 from Thomas Dettbarn <dettus@dettus.net> ---
(In reply to Fernando Apestegu=C3=ADa from comment #1)
Thank you for asking.=20

Actually, my MP3 player is not "different", but rather a Reimagining of XMM=
S.
(Which was awesome, but which ran out of support 2007). Afaik, XMMS itself =
was
a fork from X11AMP, which was the X11 Version of WinAmp.=20
You can find the true glory over here: https://skins.webamp.org

There are other players in the ports, but most of the ones I found were eit=
her
"just" command line applications, or based on frontends with a semi-commerc=
ial
licensing model. Or they were not able to show WinAmps skins on modern 4K
Monitors. So I created my own, based on GTK4, with the ability to scale up =
the
skins.=20

If you are making the argument that there are already too many Mp3 players =
in
the ports, what is one more, right? (Even though the others are more mature)
Also, this is the essence of Open Source to me: Give users as many options =
to
choose from as possible. And if they are not satisfied with them (like me),
have them create their own! :)=20

I would also like to point out that (at the moment I am writing this) OpenB=
SD,
NetBSD and ArchLinux have accepted d11amp into their home.=20

So, to sum up, I have two arguments for my MP3 player:

1. The license situation is clearer (Even the default skin is EXPLICITLY
shareable under CC-0)
2. It looks badass-oldskool and should invoke a sense of nostalgia in
MP3-conisseurs like myself.
