Why on earth did you get an ATAPI CDROM, then?  A SCSI CDROM would beat 
the pants off of it and be a snap to install in a system like this!

You are probably confusing the heck out of your BIOS.  Dump your IDE 
CDROM and get SCSI.  That is what I would recommend.
