I downloaded the 4 freebsd 4.7 CDs last week, the mini-ISO 4.8 and the mini-ISO 5.0 yesterday from ftp.freebsd.org and it wasn´t busy; maybe one of your ISP links is broken, or you´re not using an anonymous access from your ftp client?
