It removes the port directories before merging, but it doesn't remove
ports that are no longer part of GNOME 2.3 (e.g. bonobo-activation,

fontilus is part of the main FreeBSD tree.  It will reappear everytime
you cvsup.

That will work for themus, but not fontilus and bonobo-activation.
