Matt's message, but I expect it included a reference to
http://www.vinumvm.org/vinum/how-to-debug.html.  There you will read:

  Please don't supply the following information unless I ask for it: 

  * Your Vinum configuration file, unless your problem is that you
    can't start Vinum at all.

You still didn't answer Matt's question: does it die with ccd as well?
