It's trivial, once you decode the "Wastebasket" format to trap deletion calls, even ones made on the DOS command line, and mode the file to the "Wastebasket". The code is currently owned by Artisoft, Inc., and is probably rotting on a tape somewhere after they closed down their Tucson offices, but it would be very easy to recreate this code.
