Most all packages show up in /usr/local. You can find the contents of a package
by looking at /var/db/pkg/<pkg-name>/+CONTENTS.

Some ports are not in packages because of copyrights. Ports is updated and easily
cvsupped down to your machine, so that updated ports can be used without upgrading
the entire machine. Also, ports allow you to modify the configuration to fit your
needs.
