Actually, you will probably want to write a script to run via cron: this will
automate the process of kicking idle users without you having to keep
yourr own eyes on it.

Most users won't carp to loudly about a 3 hour kick cycle...

Use the 'ps' command (e.g. 'ps -ax') to find the user's process id, then
use the 'kill' command on that process to kick the user off the system.  A
'kill -9' may be necessary...see 'man ps' and 'man kill' for more details...
