  To Whom:

I am having trouble with the CD's that came with FreeBSD, most
specifically the Installation CD. In short, my CD-ROM will read my Win95
CD's, but gives me consistent <Not ready reading drive D> error messages
when trying to read my FreeBSD CD's. Could the problem be with the CD's,
or my CD-ROM? The drive reads a Micro$oft CD instantly, but I have to try
to mount the BSD multiple times. Sometimes the machine will read it,
sometimes it won't. On the occasions when I've been able to work through
the installation, I get a lot of error messages because files are missing,
even though I've selected those files and libraries to install.

If there are steps I'm missing, or a way to complete the installation
that I'm not aware of, please let me know. At nearly $80, I would like to
be able to actually use the product.

  Thank you.

  Alan
