If you're running some new version of X11 where even "xsetroot -def" will not restore the background to the traditional "root weave" stipple pattern, you can get it back with this: xsetroot -bitmap /usr/local/include/X11/bitmaps/root_weave This concludes today's public service announcement. -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber naddy@mips.inka.de
