Well if you snip out the explanation, of course it's confusing. :) Four files -> one file (Makefile, pkg-comment, pkg-descr, distinfo) == 75% reduction for those four files. If you'd rather say that over all eight files for the average port -> 5 files for the average port is 38% instead, okey dokey.
