This previous paragraph was a single line, 442 characters long.  I've
modified it for legibility.

I would suggest you do what the message suggests: log on as yourself,
and use su when you want to become root.  If you don't have your own
login ID, look at the man page for adduser (and adding_user), and add
a user ID for yourself.  If you don't know how to use su, look at the
man page for su.
