on a related note, if you do use mergemaster make sure you go in and examine 
the updated files.  I got bit on 3 machines due to a change in 
/etc/defaults/rc.conf that defaults to turning off sendmail for sending mail 
outside the machine (can I just mention what an idiotic default that is?).
