I would be happy > (ecstatic, actually) to run any experiments someone might be interested in. I've been seeing this *exact* same behaviour on a Riva TNT2 for some time now. I find the new driver to be a /little/ more stable -- i.e. it's only locked up once on me since I installed it on Monday, as opposed to locking up three out of the four mornings for the previous driver. I /do/ use FreeBSD's AGP driver, as I found that otherwise I just had massive instability problems.
