FreeBSD void 4.6-STABLE FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE #10: Mon Jul 1 06:25:53 MST 2002 root@void:/usr/src/sys/compile/void i386
>Description:
noise or static can be heard in the sound produced by my built-in CMedia CMI8738 on my iwill KK266 box, the noise did not occur before 4.6.
i have heard the static on headphones and some stereo speakers, so i am confident that the problem does not lie in the speakers.
i have tried playing with the mixer settings, and nothing seems to help get rid of the static, except of course turning the volume to zero ;).

pcm0 line from dmesg:

pcm0: <CMedia CMI8738> port 0xe000-0xe0ff irq 5 at device 15.0 on pci0

>How-To-Repeat:
play some music on an iwill KK266 box with CMedia CMI8738 sound running freebsd 4.6.
