I think this is covered in the FreeBSD FAQ somewhere and if it is not it
should be. In the distant past the BSD daemon was know as "Chuck" or
"Chucky". Kirk McKusick, who owns the copyright, has let it be know that he
is not a fan of the name and prefers "Beastie". Out of respect for Kirk we
refer to the BSD Daemon as "Beastie".
