First thought: did you install the crypto from 4.-stable? smbfs needs it. Second thought: do you have a recent version of SMBFS? I'm pretty sure it's up to 1.2.7. After that, you need to compile a debugging kernel. I know Boris Popov would be interested in the results of a crash dump.
