The rev. 1.49 is not a fix, it does not even work around correctly.
The real (I hope) fix is a rev. 1.51. If you take a look at the diff

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/bin/test/test.c.diff?r1=1.50&r2=1.51

you will note the patch is not small. Of course I tested it a lot on
-stable and -current but I could miss something. That is why MFC
period is quite long, two months. I really do not want to MFC another
bug to -stable especially when we are talking about test(1) and sh(1).
