Cc: freebsd@hopf.math.purdue.edu Sender: owner-current@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk I have a drive with an extented partition. In that partition is a logical drive. With DOS, it is D: ( lots of help) With Linux, it is /dev/hda5 and Linux fdisk shows Disk /dev/hda: 16 heads, 63 sectors, 1046 cylinders Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 bytes Device Boot Begin Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 86 86 1023 472752 5 Extended /dev/hda3 * 4 4 85 41328 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M /dev/hda4 1 1 3 1480+ a OS/2 Boot Manager /dev/hda5 86 86 1023 472720+ 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M What is the FreeBSD name for this region of the disk? FreeBSD fdisk returns "partition 0" for the extended partition itself. Thanks, Clarence Wilkerson
