Everyone, I installed the "unix2dos" package a second time, and voila! it worked. I don't know what I goofed up the first time. I think "tuc" has a little more power, but "unix2dos" works fine. Do read the man page to understand it's idiosyncratic behavior regarding input files: - standard input modified to standard output - filename on command line modified in place even with output redirection specified Sorry for the misinformation.
