Hi, Is there a way to turn on acoustic management for ATA harddisks? atactl tells me the disk is capable of "automatic acoustic management": # atacontrol cap 0 0 ATA channel 0, Master, device ad0: Protocol ATA/ATAPI revision 6 device model HDS722516VLAT80 . . . Feature Support Enable Value Vendor write cache yes yes read ahead yes yes dma queued yes yes 31/0x1F SMART yes yes microcode download no no security yes no power management yes yes advanced power management yes no 0/0x00 automatic acoustic management yes no 254/0xFE 128/0x80 # What's the proper way to turn acoustic management on under FreeBSD (5.4).
