Subject:   Crash dumps before initialization finished

... the title says it all really ! How do I get the kernel to dump core if
it panics before the boot process has finished ? There used to be a 'dumps
on' modifier to the 'config' line in the kernel configuration file, ( aka
'crash on' ) but this has gone. What do you do if the system panics during
initialization ?
